The Human Brain Time is a free educational VR app designed for students to study the human brain in a fun and interactive way. Designed and developed by researchers at Montclair State University, this app is now available for free on the Meta Quest App Lab.
Players can manipulate 3D models of different parts of the brain, engage in a unique quiz experience, or play a brain structure positioning game. A life-size walk-through brain experience is also being developed and is currently in beta-testing. Created in collaboration with instructional designers and researchers in computer science and neuroscience, it is an ongoing project to create new methods of STEM engagement for students. Ideally used as an extracurricular study or review app, it can also be utilized in classrooms for instruction.
The 3D model we used was created by Sackmonius and is available on Turbosquid. We have added labels for many parts of the brain, including the prefrontal and parietal lobes, cerebellum, thalamus, and more.
If you use the app and find it useful please leave a comment on the Meta Quest Store page or directly to us on our website.
Happy learning!
